Bluebell Railway - November 2007

A photo charter at the Bluebell and some fantastic autumn light.  34028 was running as long gone class mate 34100 "Appledore".  The morning session was a recreation of the last ever "Golden Arrow" Pullman train, which "Appledore" hauled, complete with green "Bulleid" coaches mixed with the umber and cream stock.  The afternoon session was a Brighton Works to Stewarts Lane via East Grinstead empty coaching stock recreation.

The annual "Giants of Steam", was a "Bulleid Fest" this year, with 34081 "92 Squadron" and 34007 "Wadebridge" visiting the railway, whilst 34028 "Eddystone" and 21C123 "Blackmore Vale" from the home fleet created an excellent gathering of Bulleid Pacifics.  Great weather also helped with a tremendous weekend.

North Yorkshire Moors Railway - September 2007

Watercressline - September 2007

A new venture for me, organising a photo charter at the MHR (in conjunction with Warwick Falconer),  We chartered 73096 on the freight stock, with 25 photographers from all over the UK converging on Alresford for a 7am start!  We where very very lucky with the light, it was truly sensational.  The charter ran from Alresford to Medstead before the days service trains started, everyone seemed to have a great morning.  34016 was the other loco in steam.

Upwey - September 2007

34067 "Tangmere" seen on the mainline at Upwey, with the Steam Dreams charter from Weymouth to Waterloo.

Swanage Railway - September 2007

The autumn Swanage Gala saw 80104, 30053 and 6695 in action.  Lovely weather and the fantastic Purbeck countryside made for a great day.

Watercressline - August 2007

An amazing day on the footplate (officially sanctioned) on one of my beloved Bulleids, "Wadebridge".  It really was a dream come true, an engine that my dad would have fired in the steam days even complete with Pines Express Headboard.  Many thank to Chris for arranging it and also Richard and Duncan for putting up with me all day.

Gloucester and Warwicks Railway - August 2007

An "NRM" day at the GWSR with 4771 and 3440 from the national collection both in action in great summer sunshine.

"Bluebell 125", the 125th anniversary of the railway was a full scale celebration, 11 locos in steam and vintage vehicles displays.  On the Sunday there was also a grand "Calvacade" featuring most of the locos.

SS Shieldhall, Solent - July 2007

Steam but at sea not on rails!  The SS Shieldhall operates cruises from Southampton to various locations, this trip on the oil fired steamer being along the IOW coast.  I'd thoroughly recommend it as a great day out.
