Given the fantastic weather conditions I couldn't stay at home, so tried a few different angles at the Watercressline with 31806 again in service.

With only a few railways running in January there's not much choice so it was back to the local line with 31806 in action.

Two days of photocharters in the West Highlands with 61994 and 44871.  Compared to 2010 a very frustrating time was had in Scotland with no real sun to speak of, along way to go to only return with a cold and not much else!

A day trip to both the East Lancs Railway and Keighley and Worth Valley Railway, sadly a 3am start didn't really reap the results I'd hoped.

At last some sunshine, and the forecasts were correct!  My first ever visit to the MRC sees 73129 in action.

You guessed it, another Met Office inaccurate forecast (how hard can it be??!!), 80072 in action on Santa Specials.

An amazing week in Scotland, with two days of photocharters and the Jacobite service train providing a some stunning material.  Not a bad holiday either!

Two days of photocharter with newly restored T9 class number 30120, I've waited along time to see this splendid loco in steam!

The autumn gala had a Somerset and Dorset feel, with 34070 Manston visiting for the event.  Sadly the weather forecast was rather inaccurate and the 3am start probably wasn't worthwhile!

Following on from the autumn gala the week before the railway staged a "Mixed Traction" event.

The autumn gala at the Watercressline saw 7F number 88 visit the line and also the first public appearance of recently overhauled resident Black 5 number 45379.

My fifth trip of the summer to the Settle and Carlisle (you'll only see 4 on here as one of them produced a zero result!) sees 5690 at Ais Gil.

Another trip the Settle and Carlisle see 46115 at Armathwaite.

Finally got it! After many attempts at Upwey finally managed to get one in lovely sunshine.  34067 makes a fine sight climbing the bank at Upwey and as the sun sets at Micheldever.

Something a little different at the Mid Hants.  Great British engineering comes with varying numbers of wheels, the two wheels in this case being a Triumph Bonneville T100.

A week at the NYMR for their Spring Gala, 60163 "Tornado" being the star of the show. A difficult week photography wise sun, wind and smoke not really happening at the right time!  Was a great holiday at Esk Valley though.

My first ever visit to the NNR and a marvellous line it is!  The wind was causing some problems so I stuck to the Sheringham end of the line, the intensive "Spring Gala" service gave a good return in just 3 hours.

A first for the Bluebell, the first time its run a diesel hauled passenger service, 73109 having the honour.

A very interesting nightshoot at the CVR held at Oakamoor Sidings, a part of the line not open to the public.  The locos where both visiting engines 47279 and 44422, with the sand loader providing an interesting addition.
